Indonesian authorities have suspended Sam Altman’s Worldcoin project, citing compliance violations. The government blocked access to its website after discovering unauthorized promotion of iris scans to local users. The Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry announced the move as a precautionary measure to mitigate potential risks.
Alexander Sabar, Director General of Cyberspace Oversight, confirmed plans to summon Worldcoin’s local entity, Terang Bulan Abadi, for clarification. The investigation revealed the project was operating under a PSE license registered to another company, Sandina A.
